JEE is now the single entrance exam for all engineering aspirants in India to take admission into the Engineering/ Science Institutions. There is no need to apply for several entrance exams. The students will now be free and relaxed after appearing in a single exam.
This will considerably reduce stress-level and the student will be able to avoid the multiple exams which posed the challenge of preparing for different syllabi and patterns. It is also a substantial financial savings for parents. A simultaneous preparation of School/ Board examinations and JEE will yield better results. Introduction of JEE , thus eliminates the unnecessary wastage of time, effort & money
The seat allocation had been done through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2017 with the help of National Informatics Center (NIC). The two members of JoSAA2017 are Joint Admission Board (JAB) at IITMadras and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) at MNIT, Jaipur.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2017 has been set up by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 97 institutes for the academic year 2017-18. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.
The number of questions to be asked in the JEE The MAIN exam has been reduced from 30 to 25 (per subject), and out of 25 questions, 20 will be multiple-choice, and 5 will be numerical questions. (Single Digit, Double-Digit Integer or in Decimal) There will be no negative marking for the numerical value questions, while -1 will be deducted for each wrong answer in the MCQs. The total marks will be 300.
JEEAdv 2019 will be completely online (computer-based).
The reservation for PwD candidates has increased to 5% from 3%
Supernumerary seats will be created for female candidates to increase their presence from 8% (existing) to 14%
4000 more candidates will be shortlisted from JEE Main.
The application fee has increased to INR2600 for the General category and GST will not be applicable.
A total of 5 exam centers must be chosen while filling the application form.

¤ 6 - Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research (IISERs) + 1- Indian Institute of Science (IISc) = 2500 Plus Seats
¤ 1 - Institute of Space Science & Technology (IIST) + 3–Indian Statistical Institutes (ISIs) = 500 Plus Seats
¤ Overall 2500 Institutes participate for 5.5 Lac Seats through JEE
